Back to school?
September 11th is the first day of classes at N.Eastern. I have to make sure that I get enrolled!
Yup, talked with Erin & figured it was time to stop just being a "talker" and start being a "doer" So I researched the classes to take, filled out the appropriate paperwork. Just waiting for one more approval from hr to be on it, and then I can enroll.
Wasnt going to mention anything until everything was done.. but figured I could use the support to make sure I dont chicken out. I always have such high anxiety on things & its been hard to make sure that doesnt happen. I cant let that happen. You cant keep being afraid of things forever. At some point you have to say to yourself enough is enough.. live, experience, do. So just like the "What about Bob" movie - its all baby steps. School is my baby step right now. Starting off with psychology since it seems a little less intimidating than accounting1.
Whew! Cant believe Im writing this.... its making my decision become more real! But hearing about so many others going back to school/taking classes is motivating me to become more well rounded & hopefully eventually get an associates degree. Maybe even go further, but right now, thats the goal to work on achieving.
Thanks to the motivators, even though they dont realize they motivated me:
Erin: has been going to school for awhile now. Its so great that she's been on such a roll with it. She has done really well & Im proud of her for doing so much.
Sue: who use to work here... even though she was nervous, she's done it. Not sure if she's signing up for another class.. but good for her for doing what she did.
The guy at work: his wife was going back to school. We didnt have a chance to go into it further, but I just think thats awesome she's decided to go back.
The kids: who went off to college last year & who's planning on going in the future.
Lauren: for taking the courses she wanted to help her become a wedding/event planner. Proud of her for taking the step & doing so well.
Lori: even though she's been out of school for awhile now, just to hear what she has accomplished is wonderful.
My sister Debbie : for taking some classes in Salem, even though she's not sure what she wants to be when she grows up :)
So thank you to all of you. You have all helped get some motivation flowing one way or another.
And I really should have more confidence in myself but I just cant help think "what if i cant do it?!?!" Its very destructive thinking, but sometimes its hard to stop.
So promising to not think that way.. Instead of "What if I cant do it" I have to say "I cant wait TO DO IT!"

Ditto to what Lauren said -
Taking one class at a time is a good thing -
If you need any help, let me know. I've been known to have friends email me their papers.
