That was a close one!
For the 3rd time with in a month I have almost been in a car accident. Its starting to get very annoying. The past 2 times its almost happened leaving my mum's house after lunch to get back to work... I put my blinker on to take a left & people who are at the stop sign on the street I am turning on to, seem to not notice my blinker & have almost plowed into me. One started to go but stopped - so they were just an oops - forgiveable... One was too busy on her cell phone & stepped on the gas to go! we were inches from each other when we both slammed on the brakes. Needless to say I called her quite a few things. I dont like to yell at people...BUT get off the cell phone if you can not drive carefully at the same time.
Yesterday after leaving work, decided to drive around listening to a song before going home. Just to relax & enjoy the music. Ended up on 3a driving past taco bell. There was a woman in a caravan at Taco Bell... what does she do ... but pull right out in front of me to get into the opposite lane & stops.. I cant even say how freaking scared I was.. I slammed on the breaks going oh God oh God there isnt enough room to stop! Luckily the person in the other lane decided to let her go & just in the nick of time. I slammed on the horn & called her an Fing this & that. Screaming at the top of my lungs at her...shaking because I almost slammed into her drivers door... she's just looking at me while she's on her cell phone. So much for the relaxing scenic route. Got home & drank some wine since my whole body was shaking so bad.
When Im on the cell phone, the road comes first. I pay more attention to the road than to the person Im talking to .. that may sound wrong - I am listening to them - but still being very much aware of whats going on around me.. and sometimes I'll ask them to hold on while I turn or whatever. Now I fully understand why they want to ban people from driving & being on the phone after the 2 idiots who almost caused an accident.
Its starting to get a little scary! I had my Mum & Dad check over my car insurance to make sure there was enough on it - just in case. Thank God nothing has happened - but now Im paranoid that something IS going to happen. Especially after these near misses lately!
