Movie & book reviews (past due)

I've done some reading & movie watching lately & have not listed my reviews down. Sorta like to do this well because it give me something to chat about, but also in case anyone is interested in them, they may be more excited or decline to read or watch.

*** BOOKS***

~ The 3rd Secret - **- on the idea of the DaVinci, it dealt with religion & what the 3rd secret Lucy was given by Mary during one of the visions of the Lady of Fatima. It did prompt me to look up Lady of Fatima on line & got me interested again in those visions, however, I was rather bored with this book. Did like a couple of characters so had to keep reading to see what happened to them.

~ The Historian - ****- again, same idea as the DaVinci Code, but it dealt with Dracula and historians who received strange books with dragons on them..leading them to research Dracula & finding out that he truly exsisted. This was a good book... near the end it did get a little draggy & left me feeling like ok...are we there yet?? Didnt really care for the ending & wondered what happened to one of the characters that made an appearance in the middle of the book & helped one of the main characters on her search. But I did like how some chapters ended leaving you sitting there "OH i MUST read on"

~ Vision of Murder - *****- loved this book ... mostly because it was a different subject & style all together, but also the characters are just very likeable & a few times put a smile on my face. its about a psychic who invests in a house with a friend & her sister & it ends up being haunted..which leads Abby (the main character) to find out what the history of the previous owners were. I liked this so much, I asked Jeff to get me the other books this author has written for Valentines day. (this was his idea as well as valentine boyds bears of course!)

****MOVIES*****

~ The Man - ****- This is with Samual Jackson & the guy that plays the dad in American Pie. i think he is a riot - so was excited to watch this movie. Jeff & I thought it was funny - not overly funny, but we like the characters so we liked the movie. Definitly a good rental.

~ Lord of War - Hated it. Jeff rented it thinking it was a Nicholas Cage movie I wanted to see. I never heard of this one. And it was awful. It was him selling guns & amunition to poor countries and all they did was kill their own people. You saw young teen boys getting shot on like a firing squad.. no thanks. Im sure this really does happen in countries like that, and thats awful, but its something I dont want to see. It breaks my heart that children have to live like that instead of living as a child should. Just not for me.

~ Flight Plan -*****- Really liked this movie. You dont know whether to think she's crazy & that she never took her daughter on the plan or believe that someone took her. I wont go any further so I dont spill the beans - but definitly a great movie to see.

Ok - think thats it.. there are probably more movies - but I cant think of what they are. : )
