Merry Christmas - Sunday Christmas day

Merry Christmas to all !

It was a tough morning to get up out of bed. We didnt get home from my parents house until about 12:30 or so. We have to be at Jeff's sisters house for 10. Yuckieeeeeee. Jeff's in the shower before 8 & im still in bed feeling like Im in shock when the phone rings. I am so not awake enough to answer it. Its Jeff's nephew Jake calling him asking him where he is. So Jeff gets out of the shower, I tell him to listen to his message & then he calls his sister back. They were wondering where we were! Hellooo is 8 am! They were up at 5 with the baby, and then Jeff's parents got there at 6 to watch Jake open gifts. So they were waiting for us. Jeff is like come on - hurry up, they're waiting. I go - Its their own fault they're waiting! We'll be there for 10... so I go on the couch to try to come too, and we open some gifts that we dont know what they are. (usually there are no surprises since we pick out what we want) Jeff got me a Boyds Bear that I did not know he got.. i suggest it but would never thing he'd get it.... He is in an M&M suit... the yellow M&M - who is my favorite! I LOOOOVE IT! Also got Bon Jovi & Kelly Clarkson cd's. What a great job Jeff did! The gifts I knew about were - tall zip up boots, a red fleece throw with white snowflakes (got one for Heidi & begged for one from Jeff - its soo cozy!) and the boyds bear on a swing... & then some stocking stuffers.

He guessed the gifts I got him - even the ones he didnt know I was buying. But he was surprised over a few stocking stuffers though. Jeffy got a Old Navy sweatshirt, a sander for his Camaro work, some long johns to keep warm when snowblowing the driveway in a blizzard...The Simpsons Treehouse of Terror - the 2nd dvd (couldnt find the first) Billy Madison dvd, a Homor mug for the freezer and then his stocking stuffers.

Its so funny how we dont really spend a lot on each other anymore. I could buying him stuff - but with so many people to buy for every year, it is nice to to have a cap on the spending. I miss the days of buying something really nice for him though.....

So anyway, off to the sisters house for 10 am breakfast. It was a nice time. Jeff's parents are always too generous.. .new sheets & blanket for the bed (which we needed) some new towels... gift cards to go out to eat... money to help finish our family room... a Boyds Bear " i love a parade" and some other stuff. Jeff got some nice shirts & socks too.

His mother got us a bird house for the back. But for the past 2 years when she is here in the summer time she says how about a nice bird house for the back yard.. we say no - we really dont want one. So this Christmas she buys us one. Maybe she has forgotten the conversations about it? But we REALLY didnt want one. It is very cute - but what do we do with it? We have enough birds pooping over our cars & making nests under the porch that we really dont want to encourage them to populate & hang out in the bird house.

It was a good day. Ended early which was great since I wasnt feeling all that great still. We came home & took naps - and felt great after about a 3 hour nappie : )

How was your Christmas? Hope you enjoyed every moment!

Wow - you got some great stuff!

Have the house changes a lot, doesn't it? I didn't spend as much this year because of the mortgage payment that I now have - gotta love the joys of being an adult!

Mom-in-law just doesn't listen! Goodness! Ughy! :-(

Hope you are feeling better - this time of the year can wipe ya out!

Take care of yourself!!!

PS Nothing too exciting for gifts for me. I got money from my folks, stocking stuffers (gift certificates), and a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. My sis bought me the new INXS CD.
