Poor Amanda!

I just found out that my niece Amanda gets picked on at school. Last year we found out the kids called her fat. She is NOT fat.. a little chubby yes, but not fat. Even still - why do kids have to be so mean?!

Well now we found out that she's getting picked on for the way she dresses. My sister LeeAnn use to dress so beautiful. Even in jeans she would look great...then she moved in with her now husband & all of a sudden she changed. And let me tell you, everyone noticed the change. Then she had Amanda & she started dressing her not so great (not to be mean) but sometimes she still does. One time my mother was like ah - she doesnt match you know. My sisters have given her clothes from Krystina & Karla - nice clothes in great condition..and no one ever saw them on her.

So my mother found out from my other sister Debbie (LeeAnn & my mum dont talk anymore) that Amanda has a favorite store up at the Burlington Mall... so mum & dad are getting her a gift certificate there for Christmas. I still owe her a bday gift (yes very behind bad auntie!) So i think I will get her a card there as well. Too bad I didnt know sooner, I got her a mall card - which she could still use in there, but it would have been great to get it to the store she loves.

Its awful when kids are cruel. I remember being picked on & it definitly hurts a lot. Now it just feels like we should go out & buy her all kinds of clothes for her & her brother Mark.

This is sad too - Debbie for their birthdays got them sneakers that are very popular right now & Mark's eyes opened wide & he gasped "we're going to have sneakers like everyone else?!?" How sad is that??? I cried at my mothers house hearing these things. Its just so sad.

And not to be mean, but if they are that hard up for money, my sister could get a part time job & my brother in law could learn to cut back on a few things. Those poor kids! There's nothing worse than feeling like the odd ball at school.
