Whats going on?
Its pretty sad..the more people I chat with, the more I find people are just out of touch with Christmas. Whether it be the rude people in the stores, the price tags people may put on gifts or whatever other reasons they have, more & more people are hating Christmas.
This year its been tough for me too to get into the Christmas spirit, especially with everything being out of whack this year...but we have to keep the spirit of Christmas in our hearts. Its so very important. We have to ignore the rude person, the crazy driver, the crazy Christmas lights that wont work right, and whatever else is going on. Do not let them ruin your day or holiday spirit. Sometimes we have to overcome annoying things in this world - and who knows, maybe this is a test on our spirit & faith and we are flunking big time.
Ok retail has made Christmas too commercial, less loving & all about the almighty dollar, thats true. People are too stressed out & are unbearable sometimes, thats true.
*But please remember what Christmas means to you in your heart. Its not about the size or cost of the gift - but something you bought for someone that made them smile, even if it was $5... its about seeing your family & friends & cherishing their exsistence in your life. If the person next to you chooses to be a grump, so be it. Let them be a grump - but dont let them ruin your good mood, take away your smile or your laughter.
Please please dont lose sight of Christmas. I might have said Christmas sucks - but I dont mean it. Its just because Im disappointed that my house isnt decorated the way I want it to be - to show my Christmas spirit to the outside world. But Im still listening to the Christmas music (even when its fuzzy) And Im still having fun buying people silly gifts to make them smile. The evil Scrooge is NOT going to fully take over my Christmas spirit - I wont let it - so there!
But speaking of sily gifts...Karla & Anthony always say how their Mother doesnt make them pancakes that often, so I bought them a big box of pancake mix! LOL and they seem to go thru hot chocolate like water, so getting them a big box with a big bag of marshmellows. See - cheap stuff that they'll love & laugh at when they open it!
And Anthony hasnt given us anything for his Christmas list this year - so when Jeff & I went out shopping Sunday, we went into Payless & we found Cartman slippers! Soooo he's getting those & a little something else! Hehehee hope he loves them! : )
OK back to the original point here, please try to be jolly. Even just a little... remember Santa's sleigh cant fly without some good old fashioned Christmas spirit!
