You know you're getting old when....

buying a new mixer is wonderful & exciting. Sad isnt it? Did you hear about how I broke our mixer? Good thing it was old & inexpensive!

Every Friday at work we have a meeting. At one meeting I had mentioned that coffee cake & some coffee would be a wonderful thing...so I had decided to make these delicious pumpkin oatmeal raisin (or choco chip) cookies.... well it started out has being a little too short on sugar - but hey no big deal, it wasnt that much. Then the brown sugar was all in a clump - but ok (shoulder shrug) no big deal, lets follow the directions on the box to correct that. Well, being the impatient person that I can be, I didnt nuke it long enough & just decided to mash the rest of it with a fork. When I thought it was ok enough, I threw it in the mix & started up the mixer. Mmmmm look at those lumps from the brown sugar. Great. So lets mash it up with this spoon while i mix..Oooops oh oh What just happened???? The spoon jumps out of my hand, gets stuck in the mixer & breaks it. It took a few short moments of disbelief before I realized what had happened. Ah ok - well maybe its still salvageable... but wait - whats that??? A piece of plastic... greeat. Ok out goes the mix :(

So then Jeffy & I made a trip to WalMart & found this really awesome mixer! It comes with the usual stuff & then a whisk for making whipped cream & oh ! it also comes with dough hooks! Wonderful! This thing is so powerful & awesome for just $18.99.

Its not the grand mixer I would love to someday own, but I'll take it :)
