Poor kids...
Yesterday Sandy had an appointment with Anthony's new doctor. This doctor tested him out for A.D.D & a few other things to figure out whats been going on. Dont know if I mentioned anything, but Ants is doing summer school right now in order to get promoted.
His dad met my sister had the doctors office.. they had a few words & he left. He didnt just go out & get fresh air.. he left & never returned. Im really starting to feel that men in general are just plain useless. Instead of him just getting some fresh air, try to ignore my sister & get over himself & maybe actually try to think of someone else besides himself, he leaves.
Anyway, my sister found out that Anthony's school level is low. He is also depressed. I knew he was holding on to some anger - at his parents & himself, but never figured he'd be depressed. My poor little guy. Things still bother him about hid dad - things his dad did to my sister that Anthony saw. Karla probably saw too .. and I always said that I thought she was a little depressed, but it has to be both of them. At least Karla has helped herself a lot & has been doing very well in school... but she also had special classes at school to help her. Ants does not. When the doctor found out the school Ants was in, he said these schools in our town have been leaving a lot of kids behind. They will also be working on getting an advocate to get the school to do what they need to in order to help Ants learn. My parents were paying for Ants to go to Sylvan - but its just so expensive. So instead they will be having a tutor, someone who was recommended, someone who has experience in dealing with kids like Ants.
Please say a prayer for Anthony & for Karla. They are such great, wonderful kids & it really just breaks my heart to think of them any less then happy. My sister is not perfect, but she tries hard with them, sometimes we think she does stupid things, but its never easy to be a parent I guess. And their Dad.. well he's just an idiot, and only seems to make it worse for them.
Anthony has always adored his dad too. He even has the the Guatemalan flag on his cell phone. I told him above anything else, he is an American.. he is also Italian & Portuguese. He's just trying to find himself right now so we dont get mad at him, we just let him know he is a mix of everything & to be proud of everything that you are. The poor kid.. he's just feeling lost right now, trying to figure out who he is as a person.

Tell you sis to fight for Ants in the school system.
He's a great kid and deserves to do well in school.
As a teacher, I sometimes have to fight to have kids be tested too. See, it costs the school a ton of money to do the tests and also to provide the services. But, it's their responsiblity to help out the kids.
So, fight for your rights! Or Ants rights!!!!
