Shadows
The shadow of sadness covers her heart like a cloak
The weight of it pressing the heart into nothingness
Leaving it aching in despair.
Seeing her love walk by without a word
Destroyed her soul so much
It can not be repaired.
A tear slips from her eye to stream gently down her cheek
She can not run to him no matter how much she wants to
So she stands paralyzed in fear.
If he were to reject her even more
To toss her aside as if no feelings ever existed
Would be too much to bear.
So she turns slightly on her heal
To walk away gently, unnoticed and brave
Even though all she wants to do is run to nowhere.
If she were to run and hide with in the shadows,
And cry into the night to never return -
Would he even care?
