You just dont realize.........
You never fully think about what you're eating & how its really affecting your body. Tonight I started to read some of the South Beach book (thank you Lauren!!!) And this is something i knew before, but forgot about or just didnt want to come to terms with.
The food you eat & the soda you drink can really do a number on your body even without you realizing it. Reading some of that book tonight made me remember what the hygenist had said to me at one cleaning a few years back. She said she thought I was a lot younger until she saw my gums. And she knew I was eating too much junk. So at that time I really tried hard to eat better & add more fruits & veggies & stop being so lazy & prepare better lunches/dinners. At that time I also noticed a change in my vision. The eye doctor had said my vision had improved! Wow! So this should be motivation alone to eat healthier. But we get so caught up with the outside of our body - we dont realize that the shitty food we're eating is really messing up our body chemistry.
Maybe thats why we get in crabby moods, may act more sensitive towards others & ourselves (including body image) , have less patience & just feel down right ucky.
So next time when we're a little blue - lets not focus on the outside of our bodies - but the inside and that eating that stupid little hostess cupcake & having that one too many sodas - is actually the culprit of not feeling good for the day.
So raise your glass of water & toast to yourself. How beautiful you are inside & out. And just remember to eat your veggies & fruits and limit your sweets. They dont have to be "forbidden" Just not on your daily plate. Its easy for me to say this because I have a problem with craving bad stuff especially when I made the mistake of buying it.
Anyway the point is, if we're not feeling quite right - lets not always blame our weight. We all do - thats for sure (its easy to get caught up in that) but maybe it was the soda we had, or the piece of cake, the candy bar, or the mickey dee fries.
Definitly make time for yoga or pilates which is great for circulation, relieving stress, strengthing your core muscles, your mind & your well being. Its all the mind. We can over come anything with positive thinking. Lets all be each others support group & keep ourselves strong & healthy.
